Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum

The Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum is a must for every riverboat buff who read Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn and “Life on the Mississippi”. The museum also shows some memorabilia from Samuel Clemens riverboat pilot career. There are more buildings to visit like the New Mark Twain Museum (including a pilot house replica and 15 Norman Rockwell paintings, located on Main St), Grant’s Drug Store / Pilaster House, John M. Clemens Justice of Peace Office and the Becky Thatcher House. All buildings are within a walking distance from the boat landing.

Hannibal Parks

If you drive to Hannibal don´t forget to visit the community parks Lovers Leap and Riverview Park. Both offer a breathtaking view over the Mississippi river and a good photo opportunity. If you arrive by boat, you may walk up to the Mark Twain Memorial Lighthouse and Cardiff Hill Park.

Lovers Leap, located on MO 79 south of Hannibal, south of Fulton St, watch for signs.

Riverview Park: 2000 Harrison Hill, follow 3rd St north (MO 79), cross under Hwy 36, follow Harrison Hill and turn right for the park.

Mark Twain Memorial Lighthouse and Cardiff Park: steps begin at the north end of Main St.
