The New Madrid Historical Museum features a variety of displays reflecting the past of this small Mississippi River town, covering the prehistoric Indians, French explorers, the great earthquake of 1811, Civil War battles and river boat traders. Small and tiny museum including some artifacts connected with steamboats. Don’t forget to walk on the overlook next to the museum.
