Perhaps I've missed something, but I'd like to know what is the current status of the exemption bill. The last I heard it was attached to a must pass Coast Guard funding bill. Is that bill still pending? Then I heard that some of the wording in the exemption bill wasn't quite right and had to be changed. Does that mean they had to "unattach" the exemption bill? I guess bottom line what I'm asking is there any hope of getting the exemption passed this session of Congress?

I think we would all like to know the latest status on S 1129, the Senate's U.S.C.G. Appropriations Bill. The last I heard the bill is still sitting in committee, and due to some partisan differences on the part of the bill that addresses ballast water dumping in the Great Lakes it still remains in committee.
