I recently picked up an old Ashton gage, unused and in it's original packaging. 10689.jpg10690.jpg10691.jpg

I was recently contacted by a man who purchased an Ashton 3 chime whistle a few years ago. It's a beauty and he sent me some pictures? I'm leaning towards a steamboat whistle. What do you think?

1877, the company first incorporated in Hartford CT. I recently was able to obtain a copy of the letter from the Hartford Daily Courant which is attached below along with a photo of one of the first stock certificates.

Thank you for your interest. And thank you for forwarding a mention to the S&D Reflector magazine. I have put together a "steamboat" version of the story for those who might be interested. I have quite a bit of information that I've been collecting over the last 3 years and I love sharing it.

The next attachments are from the 1914 catalog and mention the "points of mechanical superiority" of an Ashton valve.10479.jpg10480.jpg10481.jpg
