Several years ago (1979) Lloyd's Directory was republished by the now defunct Young and Klein Printing Co. of Cincinnati. Luckily, I have a copy of that in my library. Captain Fred Way, Jr. editor of the S&D Reflector at the time it was republished wrote a review of the Directory in the Reflector. He reported that Lloyd's was viewed by rivermen at the time it was published (1856) as being a tool of the railroads to scare business away from the river.
