Just writin to let everyone know that we've got some great new additions to the Idlewild/Avalon/BoL program! While Dad cooks up some new slides, I'm going to start work on new audio recording and mixing. Get ready - PitP version 2.0 is coming!

Lots of interest in this upcoming program! I've been thinking that perhaps we should have some "excursion boat popcorn" (HEAVY on the salt!) for the refreshment table, which will also include Judy's "Steamboat Chocolate Chip Cookies", etc. It's going to be a great day of steamboat fun and fellowship!

NEW and EXCITING developments!

Just finished work on some new slides of NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN photos for the program (taken by a humble, burgeoning Dubuque photographer from 1959-1961). We can barely contain ourselves!

Just got back from the Mississippi River Museum here with a great audio clip of Capt. Wagner describing how he hired the young Clarke Hawley on the AVALON in 1952. That, too, will be part of the Paddlin' Into the Past program. We're looking forward to seeing all our old river friends along with our new friends from the Message Board on July 1st. Tell your friends to come and support the Howard Museum and share in a great day of steamboatin' and reminiscing. It's gonna be great fun!!
