    Hi Travis,

    Thanks for those wonderful photos!

And finally I know which boat was used in the TV series "The Mississippi" (the boat was called Mississippi) starring Ralph Waite (aka John Walton):

ThereĀ“s one episode where you can see the MQ.

        Tom,
My guess is it stands for Capt. "Hamilton" (?)
That's nice if they are going to keep the "H" there in his honor. A bright red star would look nice there as well.

Here' that photo of the Denny's wheel:

We put the "H" on in 1983, it was Capt. Todd Maces (The long time Captain who has since past) nick name, because he raised so much H--- as a youngster and this was his nick name, simply "H" Don, you are correct we used to have a Yellow Star with red boarder.

I was shocked to see that it is still there, and Im sure it has been painted over many time. I bet it remains because of Lawson, which is OK. I will always rember Todd. We painted it in Pt. Pleasent.

                The "H"

It's grand that Cap'n Todd Mace is still remembered on the boat that was so much a part of him. The Yellow Star is still there. Just painted into the boat, and the "H" is anchored to it.

                      "Sternwheeler P.A. Denny,
                      She's graceful and she's tall,
                      Cruisin' past majestic hills
                      Along the Great Kanawha;
So blow the whistle loud and clear,
                      Play the calliope -
Come join us on the Denny
                      Hear that river symphony!"

The DENNY's ailing in the shipyard, but will be back better than ever.

                          Sam,

I hear great things about her stay there. Too bad I am holed up on the river away from her...I'd love to visit and take some pictures of the transformation.
