This is a live view of the river about mile 503 looking upstream from the Rising Star casino boat. . You can catch a beautiful sun rise at daylight in the morning river conditions permitting. Here lately you can also see what Captain Harry called a "shut out fog". How would you like to navigate a steamboat in that soup back in the day?

If you go to there is an image of how this stretch of river looked c1900 to 1910 before the dams were built. The casino cam would be up on the Indiana shore (left bank ascending) about where the big mud flat is in that picture.

Keep you steam up!
