Steamboat Print find In Oroville, CA!

She does find stuff! I figure the frame would have cost me more than the whole purchase price. It will probably end up alongside our print of the Natchez, although that one is a bit smaller.
One time, decades ago, I found a flyer for the Avalon at a yard sale here--nothing else steamboat or river related there either! Now it's in a storage box around here . . . somewhere. . . .

I have that print, as well as several others by Paul Norton. He lived in Davenport and painted local scenes including boats, train stations, schools. That was a good find.

My wife visited the local "upscale" thrift store here in Oroville, CA and spotted a matted and framed watercolor print of the Julia Belle Swain on the wall, appears to be a 14" x 20" print in a 19" x 25" silver metal frame. Artist is Paul N. Norton, in 1971. Her big "find" cost all of $12.50!
She's got a good Idea for finding stuff like this. Right now she's reading a "Christian Romance" book, "The River Queen" (a Water Wheel Novel) with the cover featuring a photo of the Natchez with the nameboard whited out.
