    Upper Mississippi brochures

This one's for Jim Blum or anyone else who might know. In the 1970's, the Corps of Engineers had these brochures available at the locks on the Upper Miss. I think Jim told me they were adapted from a railroad brochure with the slogan "where nature smiles 1,000 miles" or something like that. Jim, which railroad was it?

    C B & Q, The Burlington Route. [Chicago, Burlington & Quincy].

Bob and David did a masterful job of adapting these ACOE maps into the descriptive booklet the "crew fund" provided to UMR passengers for a Season, maybe even two.

Thanks, Jim and Jim! Someone had posted on the Facebook group "Mississippi River Photos" about that brochure and I wanted to add a little bit to it.
