    Old man in drydock

Can't believed it has happened. We built a ramp for Darlene's wheelchair and this morning it had clear ice and down I went. Broke my leg big time. Guess I will write some more for the S & D Reflector.

    That wasn't necessary!

Bill, we want to see more of your insights in writing, but we could have waited until you had the time without being in drydock. So now Darlene gets to play nurse??? Take care, both of you!!!

      Bill,

I just came out of a 6 week dry dock after a Hallux surgery. I´m trying to get adjusted wearing a regular shoe on my left foot since last evening.

So, get well soon and have a speedy recovery!!

Talk about mixed feelings! I’ll echo what Judy said about not having to do THAT (break your leg), but we’ll sure be looking forward to those REFLECTOR articles. Heal up soon!

re: Been there, done that ....

          Morning Bill and all,

Having rode around in the same contraption Darlene uses for years and suffered several breaks like yours my advice is to smile and press on. Writing more is a good way to use your recovery time. Information shared is history saved.

Best regards and wishes to both of you for a quick recovery and better days ahead. Keep you steam up!

Bill, sorry to hear about being in drydock; however while you are exercising the matter between your port and starboard ears for Reflector articles why not throw out a few teasers on the message board. Give us some kibble to chase!

Fred Way wrote that "The Log of the BETSY ANN" was the result of being laid up due to a bad case of athletes' foot that he tried to cure himself, but breaking bones goes way beyond the call of duty. Take care of yourself and Darlene, and listen to what the doctor and Darlene tell you. And above all get well soon!

Morning, Capt. Bill. Yep, been there and done that this year with hip replacement using wheel chair, walker, canes--every Rube Goldberg contraption imaginable. Give a yell if you need anything as I'm due west up on the hill. At least it's winter with no yard work. CHEERS!
