    Thank you Bob for the tip. I will check it out. I'm still trying to learn more about this picture - it was in my grandparents home for years, then in my parents home.

    Is that a print or an original painting? It looks like an old lithograph that was often reproduced. As far as an accurate depiction of the race, it isn't. The boats were a mile apart when the race started and were never any closer. To answer your question, I have no idea what it might be worth.

    We have recently acquired an old large picture frame of the 1870 Race of the Robert E. Lee and the Natchez. I'm trying to see if anyone knows what the value of something like this might be? Or, do you all know someone who could appraise it for me? There are a couple of pictures attached.
