    Last Chance, Better Hurry

This is the last chance to order Charlie Lehman's excellent book "A RIVERMAN'S LEXICON" at the reduced price of $25.00. After February 1 the price goes up to $29.95. This is a must have for every professional riverman and every FRN. I got a copy for Christmas and must say I am very impressed with Charlie's work and his humor. Not only is it an excellent research tool, but it's also a good read.
You can order the book directly from Charlie:
    Charles Lehman
    PO Box 803
    Crestwood, Ky. 40014
From now until Feb.1, $25.00 plus $5.00 shipping. After Feb. 1 the price goes up to $29.95 plus $5.00 shipping

Is there a listing for "life line" in the lexicon?

Frank: Not sure, but one thing I found missing was "mule". He lists "haulage unit", but I have never heard a boat person call it that -- always "mule".

According to Capt. Lehman's "Rivermans Lexicon" Lifelines are "flexible lines that are strung along the outboard main deck for a person to grab if needed to keep from falling overboard."
