Monday, February 13. 2006DQSC former/present employees postingsSome of you may remember how the steamboats.org message board started: It was a forum for communication and information amongst the then former employees of the DQSC after bancruptcy. The discussion then was decent, friendly, helpful and everyone was interested in getting information about the future and how to get the company back to business. Trackbacks

Franz,
Thank you for providing steamboats.org to us and taking control of this embarrassing situation. I have given this site address to many of my pax and spend a lot of time trying to assure them that they still need to keep booking". No experience compares to cruising down the river. Phil Thanks Phil for your support for steamboats.org. I think it's important to promote the positive sides - that's how to get passengers back on the boats, which makes sure there will be jobs at DQSC this year and in hopefully many following years again.
Franz Phil, I am so glad you are encouraging past passengers to book on the Queens. That is what will bring life back to the boats. I am sure a lot will book just to come back and hear you! Chris Wistey, former Riverlorian AQ
I'd just want to clarify one thing that is really important to me:
I'm absolutely feeling with all of you who were hit by Katrina either directly or indirectly by loosing your job at DQSC. And in the good tradition of the steamboats.org message board I really tried to provide a forum to exchange information and give room for discussion. I understand how important this is for you and it makes me very sad to stop this service, especially because my guess is only a few people were ruining everything, while a majority of others are suffering from the bad behaviour of a few. But I can't provide this services if these don't accept the rules of fair, decent and civilized communication and if they ignore basic rules of fairness. I definitely don't want to provide a forum for destructiveness, personal insults and other uncivilized things that do not belong to the public. I've explained how limited my ressources are and what legal risks there are. Please blame the unruly ones for having ruined the chance for a good communication about the situation here. May these guys take care of an alternative (e.g. the Yahoo group mentiones on the message board earlier). I'm happy to accept postings on the message board on how to access this Yahoo group or what ever alternative website there may be. Franz I am glad to see the efforts to take the chatter off-line. Thanks Franz, for your patience.
