The FREYA was built as WESTERSCHELDE in 1905 in The Netherlands and completely renovated in 1990 by Klemens Key, Rotterdam. He also added an old steam engines from 1926. The boat has a length of 51,00 m and a width of 6,65 m (11,40 m incl. wheelhouse). In 1999 she was renamed FREYA and moved to Kiel, Germany, where she is located today, offering sightseeing cruises on the coastal waters of Germany and on the Kiel Canal, connecting the North Sea and the Baltic Seas. The paddlewheel house reads "Raddampfer Freya", which is German and means "Paddlewheeler Freya".
