Restaurant Lt. ROBERT E. LEE

Restaurant boat Robert E. Lee

The Lt. ROBERT E. LEE was built in the late 1960´s by the James B. Eads Corp. using an old USACE boat. She was Fred Leyhe´s dream of the perfect steamboat although this was never a running boat but only a replica. Fred Leyhe was the son of Capt. Buck Leyhe one of the owners of the famous Eagle Packet Company. The Lt. ROBERT E. LEE served since 1970 as a floating restaurant at the St. Louis riverfront until it was sold and moved to Kimmswick where it reopened as a restaurant in 2004. Unfortunately closed now again. Rumors say it’ll be sold to St. Charles, MO.
