The Cape River Heritage Museum is located in the old Cape Fire Station. The tiny museum displays river-related artifacts including some steamboat models and an old fire engine.

The South East Missouri Regional Museum received most of the exhibits of the former Golden Eagle River Museum of St. Louis. A special exhibition called River Boat Legacy: A Gift from the Golden Eagle River Museum closed on Aug 14, 2005. The artifacts will be displayed in a new building in the near future.
