I have to disagree 100% with riverrat - Capt Mike, Phyllis, David Simmons etal made all the difference in the world in saving the Queens and SHOULD go down in history for their efforts. They worked EXTREMELY hard to put together and market a more attractive package before the auction, which resulted in a sale of all 3 boats for $80 million instead of 2 boats for the insulting bid of under $4 million. Let's give credit where credit is due! Also to the people who believed in their efforts and put their money on the line by booking cruises. Did you do this riverrat?? And were you on the Reunion Cruise?? All the love, laughter and tears we shared that week will never be forgotten by those of us that shared them. There's still a very long way to go in re-building confidence in the Delta Queen Steamboat Company and to get the company back to where it once was, and everyone will continue to work on this. It's a TEAM effort - and the leaders of it are only too ready to give credit to everyone involved. Instead of the negative comments, please go out and promote river steamboating on our wonderful Queens!
