It's occurring to me that if Delaware North is
looking at these postings, they might say, "Oh no.
look at all the breakdowns and problems!" When
you consider all the days and miles these boats
have run without incident, these situations are
minimal. And more importantly, notice the joy we
had during these problems. What the company did
then that it hasn't done recently is notify the
passengers ahead of time,when possible, that
there are problems. I'm sure a few people backed
out, but most of us said, hey that's steamboatin...
Last August when the AQ was stuck here for
several days due to L&D 15's breakdown, they
didn't tell the incoming passengers, and all hell
broke loose on the boat against the poor pursers
who had to inform the passengers that they would
spend time in Davenport, Iowa rather than New
Orleans. Hopefully, we'll return to the old common
decency methods of notifying people of problems,
the few times they occur...................
