To Jane Green(e):

Goodness me! What a thing to forget! Well I remember, but not well enough it appears, the name written on the Greene Line Wharf Boat at Cincinnati since I was old enough to read. If not that, then in twenty or twenty five years of S&D. Anyway, I am sorry in more ways than one, to have mispelled your name...not even spell check could help me there!

My first rememberance of the Chris Greene was when it was laid up in Cincinnati in the 1940s...ditto Tom Greene. When I got to the point that I could drive to the public landing myself, the Delta Queen and the Gordon C. Greene were the only ones running and I am not too sure about the Gordon. I think that Ernie Wagner was still on the Avalon back then. It was the early 1960s that I remember Ernie on the Delta Queen. When the Chris was turned into a boat harbor I visited but it was a sad relic even then (about 1962), although still floating.

Sincerely,

ts
