I may not be blue water, but I've been in the New
Orleans harbor since 1984, and I've walked over
the little rises in the Natchez' deck which have
been formed when she's pulled out in drydock. And
I've seen the cracks in the galley floor created
when pullled out for inspection. There is stress
created. And being in the NOLA harbor, I've seen
towboats, cranes, other huge items put on deck
ships designed for that.. I'm afraid you wouldn't
want to be on the DQ if she were on a container
ship, because she'd be below deck or on top of a
pile of containers. Anyway, its just my opinion and
if others feel excited, fine. Just don't be surprised if
things don't work out for the dedicated DQ fans,
one way or the other.
