The last I looked, that mural is still there, but covered by other things. Lexie still does some commercial artwork to help pay the bills, and her river paintings are a treasure! She did 3 murals for the PRESIDENT when it became a casino. I've heard those have disappeared. She's also done a couple of paintings of the Natchez for the company office. She and I were chasing the DQ during the Carter trip, as she was on vacation. When we got to Hannibal, the idea arose to do a Steamboat ONE sign. We sanded the plywood during the Hannibal shore stop, and then she was asked to stay on board to finish it. It was the Presidential Shield and Steamboat One above it, and it was on the port wingbridge when they arrived in St. Louis. She felt bad leaving me on land to finish the chase, but I told her not to pass on such an opportunity. She got to meet President Carter in the pilothouse and talked with him a bit. She also got an autographed picture for me to make up for 'deserting' me!... She can never make it to S&D because that is the best tourist season for them and their boat .
