For Jane Greene to record her remembrances is to immerse herself in such profoundly painful hues of nostalgia that she nearly gasps for oxygen during the process. I HAVE written many remembrances, but it is a slow forehead craddling experience. Kinda like when I go on the Delta Queen these days. As I walk across the gangplank, I have to remind myself to switch the button on my brain to NOW and turn off the THEN button. Other wise I re-live the day when they took my half dead father off the Delta Queen on a stretcher, as one of thousands of dark memories ..and yes there were many happy times as well. THe NOW times written by you modern enthusiasts I'm studying and find very interesting, but the THEN times, except for what I post here, will probably remain in my head. But thanks, Sharon, for suggesting that somebody would find my memories interesting.I find everyone of the NOW people fascinating...even the few with hidden agendas which I can clearly translate.
