Keith, I remember reading in the REFLECTOR about Ms. Ruth Ferris; whatever happened to her collection of material? THAT would make a great book, I'm sure.
All of you who've kept records and journals of your river life should make books of them. I've only been monitoring this site for TWO DAYS, but noticed that educating people to river life and lore is a main concern - what better way than to publish your 'memoirs?' They don't have to be big hardbound books with dust jackets to be valuable resources.
Think about it; think what Jane Greene's remembrances of her famous family would mean to a newcomer in river interests - or those of Helen Prater...
