Sharon: Thanks so much! Since I've been "into" riverboats for the past 30 years, I do have many notes, files, photos and other memorabilia. My mentor and patron saint of steamboating from the time I was 13 years old was the late Miss Ruth Ferris, a St. Louis school teacher and riverboat enthusiast who later was curator of two river museums. She kept detailed logs and notebooks on everything having to do with the river and riverboats -- and she encouraged me to do likewise. When I go back and re-read my logbook from the DQ, it's funny how it brings back so many details of trips that I otherwise would have long forgotten. So, for all you great folks who love steamboats and ride the DQ and other boats, I greatly encourage you to keep a log of each trip and make daily entries of what happened on the boat, on shore, as well as notations about crew and passengers, etc. It will be a wonderful record of your own river history!
