Thanks for that first hand account of what happened that night. I had not heard all the details of that mishap all these years. Was that the same incident that cost Capt. Lexie Palmore her job as Pilot? I always felt completely secure when Lexie was in the Pilot House. She was the one of the most skillful Pilots that I remembered. You could always expect a bump or two going into a lock under most any condition. But when Lexi was on watch you may never know you were in a lock until you looked out a window. One of the smoothest pilots ever and quite the Lady.
