the MQ is headed toward Burlington with over 300 pax.
Its a beautiful day for steamboating on the outer
decks. The passengers look distinctly younger, probably
because of the $99 deal. Just think if the AQ and MQ
would be filled with nothing but $99 rates, that would
be $41,000 a day each and if the DQ were filled at $99,
that would be $17,000 for a total of $99,000 gross a
day. It would be interesting to know what the daily
operating expenses are. I still think the solution to
filling the boats and making a profit is somewhere
between the sticker shock rack rates and the rock
bottom $99, or $495 for 7 nights. Maybe the 50% off on
early bookings next year will help, it certainly brings
the fares to a more reasonable level. Anyway, a few
hours respite and then its baking time for the AQ. Tis
a sad fate to live along the river!
