Carmen: I haven't heard anything about the WAKEROBIN being in this area, but will call down to the BELLE this morning and see if any of the crew knows of the whereabouts of the old WAKEROBIN. The old boat is, indeed, a nightmare to look at and I, for one, am not amused to see these old steamboats used for such purposes. In the mid 1980's the WAKEROBIN was destined to become a floating restaurant across the river from Louisville in Jeffersonville, Indiana, but those plans did not materialize, sorry to say. The WAKEROBIN was boarded up and converted into a "haunted steamboat" which, from all reports, has been a big moneymaker. You certainly wouldn't catch me stumbling around that old boat in the dark with crowds of people! I have many pictures of the WAKEROBIN in her operating days and it's sad to see the once proud steamboat relegated to such a degrading role.
