It was a dark and gloomy day as the MQ paddled the final miles down to Davenport. But just as she finished rounding to at Oneida St., the sun broke through the clouds and glistened brilliantly on her bow- a beautiful sight to start this steamboating day. She was all fast at 6:28AM, a bit later than usual, but still I was the only observer of the water ballet. I think watching a rounding to, as the boat glides silently through the water in the early morning is such a neat experience. I hope that those of you faithful riders will someday get to see the boats from shore too. We are lucky here on the UMR to have the boats visit so often. I've got to get the cookies and newspapers packed and delivered now. The mate waited till about 100 yards from shore before yelling "Where are the cookies?" ....................
