I think that the lump that I feel in my throat right now just might be my heart. Your posting today, Mike, was wonderful. Last October, as I stood on the Kentucky shore of the Ohio River at Sugar Creek and watched the MQ dead heading down to New Orleans, I was afraid that this day may never have come. Thank the good Lord that it has and steamboatin' remains an American tradition!

It sounds as if you are rather new to doing "roof work" on the MQ. James Gardner sure as heck knew what he was doing when he set down the hull lines of the MQ on paper. I've never heard anyone say that she couldn't back or handle, and her bow doesn't make much of a stir when she cuts through the water. In reality she probably is a better behaved lady than the DQ in that department, but I'll deny it if you tell her I said it! ;-)

Thanks again, Mike, and keep up the great work!
