From the St. Louis Post Dispatch today: "The Goldenrod Showboat may stay in St. Charles under a new owner. The St. Charles City Council on Tuesday night decided to give the 94-year-old vessel to a group headed by John Schwarz, who hopes to put the boat in a manmade basin that would be dug near the city's Missouri River waterfront. Schwarz, who owns the Three Flags office and retail complex in St. Charles, was one of four parties seeking to obtain the Goldenrod from the city. Schwarz said he has yet to decide how to use the boat. But if Schwarz fails to come up with a workable plan, he is free to take the boat to other areas."
