Subject: Re: Goldenrod Showboat - Update

I agree with Keith, wholeheartedly. There are only two historic showboats left in America, The Goldenrod and the Majestic. The people of St. Charles seem to have no sense of showboat history. The good citizens of Cincinnati have been the keepers of the Showboat Majestic and have been operating it successfully on the waterfront for many years. They have accomplished this without distorting it's reason for existence by trying to turn it into something that it is not. Gambling boats are a dime a dozen these days and many of them in financial trouble. I hope there is someone in St. Louis with foresight that can rescue the Goldenrod, strip off that hideous paint job that has been perpetrated on her, a restore her to her proper location on the St. Louis waterfront. It will take a lot of support, but no good civic project is successful without a well educated citizenry.
