The Dukes of Dixieland, who are the Natchez house band, have been able to go out to various far-flung concert venues too since the boat trips have been scaled back. Preservation Hall and the Dukes are the most well known and most established bands and are able to stay together. Quite a few of the musicians who perform on the Natchez during the day are back in town, including Eddie Bayard, who is well=known to MQ passengers of bygone days. And the Jazz Fest was an absolute success the past two weekends, with the usual huge crowds. Many of the national stars performed and donated their time.
