Subject: Re: Louisville Steamboat Race

I Christopher Wirtjes was Chief Engineer pn the Belle of Cincinnati for the steamboat races on April 28th, 2004 and again on May 4th, 2005. The Belle of Cincinnati won both of those races but was disqualified as she isn't a true steamboat. Does anybody remember hearing about that in 2004 when the BOC crew "borrowed" the Golden Antlers and the mayors lifesize "plastic horse" that was decorated like an american flag? What an uproar that caused? Well the following year when we went back the crew all dressed in the traditional convict attire of black and white stripes!
