Subject: Former Boblo Boats Columbia and Ste. Claire, Detroit

For those of you in the Detroit Area, you know of the beloved Boblo Boats. The Columbia, a Frank E. Kirby Ship built in Detroit in 1902 is currently shrink wrapped in Ecorse Michigan pending a decision by it's foundation on what to do with it. They figure volunteers cannot help her but that's another story. There is a proud group of volunteers working to restore her sister, Ste. Claire built in Toledo Ohio in 1910. As we approach her 96th birthday, things progress nicely regardless of what the media has to say. Our goal albeit slow is to have her plying the Detroit River and the Lower Great Lakes for her 100th birthday under her original steam plant. We hope that you will follow our adventure and keep us in your thoughts. If your in the Detroit Area, look us up and pay us a visit. We refuse to lose another glorious steamship.
