Oh, Dale! I'm laughing my sides off that you would actually think that there was avery country clubish prcedure about who sat at the Capt.s Table years ago! THe Greenes, Capt. and Crew had FAR mor important concerns than who's gonna sit next to whom...no pecking order, believe me. Maybe it's a big thoughty thing today, but back then,it was whoever the capt. wanted there...usually I suppose who'd taken the most trips and celebrities sat there...writers, show biz folk, old steamboat freaks, etd...plus any Greenes who were sober. But no one thought much about it in a formal way that you're anticipating. It just wasn't a DAR or JUNIOR LEAGUE kinda thing back then....sorry. Sometimes mom would suggest a person or two...maybe some old lady with whom they could discuss their knitting patterns or goose recipes. We did dress up. That's about as formal as I can tell ya. xxJane
