MacMillan is no longer in business. The Queens were one of their bigger accounts, and when they left, so did MacMillan. I've climbed down that rung ladder on the piling a few times, and once we had to get Mom Tooker off via that route. That's also where the sheriff's department removed the asst. engineer of whom I spoke a while back. Back in the good old 'lock-hopping' days, I caught a few rides from there up to 15 or down to 16. I can imagine your mother's fear, steamboats aren't always in the most convenient places for boarding unofficially, but hey its a steamboat and we'll get on somehow! ............
