Franz: The photo is from a postcard photo, taken by Art Grossmann, who still operates a stock photography business in St. Louis. He has literally thousands of St. Louis area photos of the Gateway Arch and MANY boat pictures of the RIVER QUEEN, ADMIRAL, BECKY THATCHER, GOLDENROD SHOWBOAT, etc. He is a riverboat enthusiast and recently became a member of S&D! Anyway, as you said, the postcard is from the days the RIVER QUEEN was moored opposite Hannibal, Missouri --1961-1964. In the photo you can see where the bulkheads were removed and the area where cabins had been were used for restaurant space. Roddy Hammett told me once that in the aft end of the cabin you could still see GORDON C. GREENE in fancy lettering beneath several coats of white paint. I have one of the chandeliers and Jeff Spear has one of those ceiling fans. Both of them still work! Judy has one of the mirrored cabin doors and a chandelier too!
