Hi, Ted:
Your mentioning TAUCK TOURS really jolted me here. This a topic that needs further discussion. You, Jane, Phyllis etc., could probably add more. Seems that way, way back I recalled somebody around the old GREENE LINE (Mrs. Letha Greene, Bob McCann...somebody) mentioning that CARTAN and possibly TAUCK were early pioneers in booking travel packages with the GORDON C. GREENE and later the DELTA QUEEN. Then many passengers came to Cincinnati via train at our old Union Terminal. Jane remembers that the big GL wharfboat here had plenty of space for cruise passengers to park their autos under cover in place of garages up in town. Jane, did GL charge a minimal parking fee or was it 'on the company?' Old GREENE LINE travel folders always stated, "Arrive in time for all connections via train, plane and bus." Remember that?
Cheers,
R. Dale Flick
