Yes!!! This is SO wonderful; exactly the sort of thing
we try (rudimentarily) to convey to folks who know
little or nothing about steamboats & their exciting
history. Can this be excerpted to a non-discussion
board entry? We continue to direct folks to the
Steamboats.org (and deltaqueen.com) as we encounter
"east-coasters" who know little or nothing about
steamboat cruising in "Heartland America" - believe
us, there are MANY of them who need to know about this
wonderful way to vacation and learn about history of
our very own country! I/we have posted some
less-than-smart remarks, but we continue to "talk-up"
steamboatin' to many folks we meet on a day-to-day
basis, and are a bit concerned about the foreshortened
postings (used to cover most of a month; now appears to
be only 3 - 5 days!) But the wonderful reminiscences
of Jane, Dale, Travis, and all the other wonderful
veterans of the rivers - which includes, of course, our
incomparable, INIMITABLE PHYLLIS!!! Be patient with
us; we DO love all of you, and want to learn
