Don't worry, Donna, it wasn't the GORDON C.GREENE's roof bell that slipped back into Davey Jone's Locker. Her roof bell was removed by the Greene Line before she left Cincinnati to become a men's dormatory in Portsmouth, Ohio. You also stated it was a cast iron bell that got away; no steamboat worth her shucks would have had a cast iron bell for a roof bell. Cast iron bells belong out on the farm to ring in the hands, not on a fine Howard built boat!
Bye the way, the G.C.G.'s true roof bell, that first served on the GREY EAGLE, is doing service on the M.V. BELLE OF CINCINNATI.
