Jane, your posting got me thinking about some of the celebrities I met on the steamboats. Some of them:
Rosemary Clooney, Tammy Wynette, B.B. King, Art Linkletter, Steve Allen, Shelby Foote, Ken Burns, Pete Fountain, Ruby Keeler, Al Hurt, Alex Haley, Madam Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, James Woolsey and so many more. I sure don't mind name dropping when it comes to the steamboats. Celebrities love to ride the boats. Most of them were very gracious to the passengers and chatted with them frequently. Oh...the memories.
