Unfortunately the local TV media broadcast the info that the low water had exposed some old ship wrecks and that some people had found old coins (gold and others). The deck of the Gordon C Greene was shown in the coverage. So much for preservation of historical relics. I had hoped to get down there this weekend and look at the hull, but I’m sure that it will be a problem to get on that sunken treasure. She should be allowed to rest in peace. The media is only encouraging looters to invade the innards of a part of river history.
