Jane- Thanks for posting those memories of Jimmy Carter. I think that says it all about his character. He was a kind and caring person. You could see that come through during the cruise by the way he treated other passengers, his personal appearances at every lock wall which he certainly did not have to do, his allowing his photo to be taken with all the passengers AND all the crew. Plus many small things of his character that you just could not put your finger on. He is a good person, no matter his politics, and certainly deserved the Nobel Peace Prize.
