Many thanks to Judy for the incredible photo of the collapsed roof on the ISLAND QUEEN and to Franz for posting it. I pawed through stuff here yesterday and came up with -0-...zilch on the incident. Steamboats.org is a winner on this. Capt. Fred Way wrote about it years ago and, right now, I'm foggy on all the particulars. Sue Paddison-Hoebel, my neighbor, mentioned it several times as she was with her father, Capt. Ben Paddison, on the IQ when it happened. No doubt lots of feathers ruffled with the Steamboat Inspection Service.
