Hi, Sam:
Great information in your posting, as always. Glad you mentioned the islands close to the SULTANA disaster. 'Paddy's Hen & Chickens' is on the mark. As a kid I'd listen to the widow of the late Capt. Ben I. Paddison who had a long career with the ISLAND QUEEN I & II, GREENE LINE boats, Steamboat Inspection Service etc., tell of being grounded at 'Paddy's' on several steamboats. Never been down there by boat and appreciate any memories you would have of the location.

Capt. Ben Paddison was aboard the Ist ISLAND QUEEN with his daughter and wife when the roof collapsed on the way up the river. It got quite a 'blow' in the press here at the time and Fred Way wrote it up in an early REFLECTOR. There were numerous injuries and 'possibly' a casualty. I'll have to dig it out and review all here in time.

Cheers,
R. Dale Flick
