Daddy had a great sense of humor. One of his favorite things to do was to find some old ladies playing Bridge, stick a cigar in my mouth, put his Capt.'s hat on my head which fell down over my eyes, and tell me to go over there and blow smoke in their faces and talk like W>C> Fiellds. So, I'd stroll over while daddy hid and say, Good evening ladies...who's winning? and blow smoke in their faces. They were usually nervously appalled. Daddy laughed.. I was about 4 or 5. Then one time, he thought it would be funny to have a picture of me in a brochure, at age 5 ,steering the boat with his hat down over my eyes while smoking a stogey.He also wanted me to stuff some pillows down my front. He presented the idea to my mother. She gasped and said"Not with PILLOWS down her front!" Capt. Mary thought we were ALL cracked!==Jane
