And who could forget how Bob McCann (purser for eons) used to BELLOW over the microphone on the DQ, "BINGO"!!! to announce the afternoon games. Many of the passengers - and especially the elderly ones -- would almost fall out of their deck chairs and grab their chests with near heart failure! Then Bob would continue with "Yes, folks, it's bingo by Jingo..." When they all got their breath back and regained their composure they assembled in the Orleans Room. Hey Jane, Roddy told me once that you and he nearly missed the boat after a stop at Shiloh Battlefield because y'all went up to the Catfish Hotel Restaurant for some of their famous Lemon Rub Pie. They were out of pie so y'all loaded up on cold beer and staggered back aboard the DQ just as the stage was being raised. Roddy said that you caused quite a stir with the passengers by smoking a cigar! Remember that?! And, by the way, the Catfish Hotel is still in business there along the Tennessee River! I had lunch there with my parents just last spring -- and we all had a piece of that tart lemon pie in loving memory of Roddy!
