Well of course he was playing Bach on the calliope. Its located on the stern.........maybe too punny, but I DO know who Virgil Fox was. Bob Ralston from the Lawrence Welk show played the DQ calliope in 76?. The Simonton family was all on board from STL-STP with an organ group, and Ralston was the featured organist. He grimaced a bit when he played the first notes on the calliope, but then seemed to like it more as he played. I remember there was a tiff about unloading the special organ they had brought on for that trip. There was no way to haul it up those cement steps at beautiful Lambert Landing, and so it was left on until a stop down the river where it could be rolled off the stage. ..........
