I'm wondering if that might mean its going to the L&D museum site. Hopefully it will go somewhere and be used and visible to the public. It was great when the ST. Louis levee was alive in the 70s and 80s. When the DQ docked, she was just downstream from the Goldenrod and the Becky Thatcher nee Mississippi III and the Admiral. There we had 4 wonderful examples of steamboating: tourist/packet, towboat, excursion and showboat all in one spot. Up until its end of St. Louis docking, the Goldenrod was vital, with the St. Louis Ragtimers playing on the 2nd deck. Don Franz, their tuba player, often was a part of the DQ band when someone went on vacation, or when the Colonel got called off to another top-secret mission - no that's a whole other story! Anyway, here's hoping the Goldenrod is as lucky as the DQ and gets responsible new owners. ..........
